- Bethlehem Township seeks application for treasurer
Bethlehem Township is seeking applications for the part-time position of treasurer.
The position is vacant after the February 28 resignation of Robert Birk, who has moved out of the township.
The township treasurer is an elected position, serving a four-year term with legal oversight responsibility for municipal finances. The position must be filled by a township resident and has an annual salary of $4,000.
The township has 30 days from February 28 to appoint a treasurer, who by law will serve until a new treasurer is elected during the municipal election cycle of 2011. Therefore, the appointed treasurer is expected to serve in the position until January of 2012 and would also be able to run for the office in 2011, if interested.
